FA Coach view in reply to the team this yearHaving been part of Bewdley Town FC for well over 34 years, I have seen players come and go. I have heard all the comparisions made about Bewdley players of the past. I can not remember a Bewdley Team that is has talented has the one we have now, and the so called stars of the past only ever played at kidderminster league standard.
In response to Ian's comments and my honest opinion, Bewdley players are quite capbable of playing the short passing game and showing movement off the ball. However, each player who puts on that shirt have a responsibility to put their imprint on the game and to develop the intelligence that goes with it. Who is to blame when a defender knocks it long? each player must take responsibility for their decission making process.
In every position in the Bewdley team there is talent, each player should stand up and be counted and get supporters coming away from the match saying "he was outstanding", I have yet to hear any such comments being made. Bewdley Players take note, want to be a Bewdley Town Legend then its up to you, dont be average, be the best.

Although only a recent supporter of bewdley Town, the players who stand out to me are; Tom Harper, excellent distribution, if only he was 4 to 5 inches taller and Gary Middleton, I am the last person to talk but if were to lose a stone in weight he would be a little quicker , which would make him a better player but his left foot is very sweet.

I agree totally but it seems that this season, 99% of the balls from the back are sent long, even when not under pressure.
You have also got to realise that 15 years ago the Kidderminster League was a better standard than the league the first team are playing in at the moment. The pool of players on a Saturday has reduced dramatically but the number of teams at Bewdley's level has not so you do not have the quality to choose from any more and poorer players are playing at this level.
PS can you chnage the log-in from yellow on white, as you can't see that you have typed anything in

Ian: you make very interestesting points, but also you must have a basis for comparison. I played Kidderminster league in the late 70s early 80s with one of the most sucessful sides around at the time, Brintons. I considered this to be one of the most talented sides i have ever seen. But in that league and what has always been the case from then on is similar to the premiership were you can look at the league and say who will be in and around the top 6. A couple of years ago we faced two of kidderminsters finest and played them off the park and beat them with ease. Bewdley have consistently found themselves in the top four of the West mids, which has you will know is the basis of any good team. The problem that Bewdley have found this year is that in the past we have relied on the goal scoring of two or three of the best forwards in the league. This year it hasnt happened and we havent adopted or modified our game. Being once a defender myself I get annoyed that we do not play from the back, so yes you are right. But i know one thing, and this is by no means in suport of my son, when i see a back four of Drew, Middleton, Wright, Turford then i am glad i am not playing any more or a forward.
