Currant Form

Over the past few games we have seen some frightening ref`s and some terrible defending (2 players sent off) but what concerns me more is the change of formation. At the start of the season players were banging goals in for fun and yes we let in a few as well, i say we go back to 4-4-2 and start letting the players show what they can and maybe we can win the league or at least come second but lets do it in style, is Steadman going to be playing any more games for us because that keeper is worth hanging on to.
Come Bewdley we can win the league.

Frightening Ref’s is mild – some right shockers!! Craig has made his point in the press about the amount of refs we seem to have assessed at our games and it seriously affects their performance.
You mention terrible defending over the last few games – you don’t think conceding 8 goals in the first 4 games terrible?
Sometimes formation comes down to player availability and players in form, this does have a large influence on the management picking what it believes to be its strongest side. We have played some great football this season and have sometimes not come away with the result we deserve – but one thing for sure Shooter, myself and Craig put out what we feel is a team that is good enough to secure 3 points and also entertain our fans – sometimes we get it wrong, most times we get it right though, which is why Bewdley is rated as one of the best teams in this division.
I think you will see over the course of the season that the 4-4-2 formation will be employed more than it is not as this is ours and the players preferred formation. There are always some tough decisions to be made at each and every game, especially with the large squad we have, but we hope in the main that we get it right, entertain the supporters and hopefully come away with the 3 points.

your right what you say shooter the defence is a shambles, wrightys liike a farm worker mows everything down in site, because  he's to slow, and the guy who played saturday wayne lacey  got to be the worst player to ever put  a bewdley shirt on .

I think that it is a bit unfair to slag players that do not play regulary,
Try getting behind the team in a possitive way, as they say we are the extra player that they need.

Ok Bob, you have mentioned about the large sqaud that we have and i do think that we need a good large squad, so why don`t you get the fringe players involved with the sunday team so that they can gain vital match fitness so that when we do have injuries and suspensions they are coming into the squad with a good standard of fitness. I think that the sunday team should be run for the benifit of the first team plus you would get a chance to have a look at what the other squad members can offer before they play for the 1st team, you could also put any youth players in there as well.
Promotion is ours if we want it!

I Do, what about the rest of you

Shooter: About half of the squad play Sunday footy, most of them for the Sunday side. I do go out and about on a Sunday morning and watch either Bewdley or one of the other teams that have our ‘fringe’ players playing. Most of these players do attend our training sessions so that their level of fitness is good enough when called upon to turn out for the first team. There is a big difference between Sunday football and the level we play at on a Saturday, so I have to take this into consideration when assessing a players performance on a Sunday, but I always offer an opinion on their performance if they ask. I also attend many of the Under 18’s games as I can, and talk regularly with Ian Mercer about his players. Bowie does a great job with the Sunday side, has a great atmosphere there, he was instrumental in bringing Dan Jones’ game on and can hopefully do the same with Ben Taylor-Cohen and young Sam Woodhouse (who is now training with the first team). Mike Carter has been a great addition to the first team squad after a few years of good performances with the Sunday side and has raised his game/fitness levels to be a regular name on the team sheet.
Promotion is there for the taking this season, we have to remain focused, it’s a long season, other teams are not going to make it easy for us to play flowing/attacking football – rest assured, we will give it our best shot.
